Prof Chris Mellenie is an Applied mathematician, studied under G.K.Batchelor, Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS), Foreign Fellow of the American Academy of Sciences and the French Academy of Sciences, and once won the national medal of science award.
It has a pioneering position and far-reaching influence in topological fluid mechanics (especially in the topological structure and helicity of vortex). In 2016, Prof Chris Mellenie was also invited to visit the Institute of Mechanics of Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Department of Mechanics of Peking University.
