The High Magnetic Field Center of the Hefei Institute of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in collaboration with Anhui University and the University of New Hampshire, has made breakthrough progress in the research on topological magnetic structures and their current manipulation. The paper titled "Skyrmion bundles and their current-driven dynamics" has been published in Nature Nanotechnology.
The research team from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences has developed a new method for automatically calculating the topological properties of materials. In principle, only the symmetry of the high-symmetry points in the energy bands of crystalline materials needs to be calculated to obtain some or even all information about the topological invariants of the system, greatly simplifying the calculation process.
