Prof Carl Ortiz is an academician of the Royal Society, and has served as the president of the European Geochemistry Society, the editor-in-chief of EPSL, the editor-in-chief of GGG and the deputy editor-in-chief of GCA.
His research mainly focuses on the biogeochemical cycle of metals, especially in the marine material cycle, the uplift-erosion and chemical weathering of orogenic belts, and the evolution of life and environment. The related research results are published in top magazines such as Nature, Science and PNAS.
